ROCKDALE — Graveside service for Sylvia Evon Grant, 62, of Trinity were held Sunday, Aug. 3, in Friendship Cemetery near Davilla with the Rev. Tim Ramsey officiating.

Mrs. Grant died Friday, Aug. 1, in a Conroe hospital.

She was born Oct. 23, 1945, to William S. and Alzelena Ward Lawhon in Houston. She married Jesse Frank Grant on Oct. 1, 1965. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband.

Survivors include a son, James Grant of Odessa; six daughters, Linda May of Oklahoma, Tammy Sadd of Milano, Amanda May and Dianna Aldama, both of Rockdale, Patricia Cortez of Madisonville and Carolyn Dyer of Trinity; a brother, Robert F. Lawhon of Rockdale; 27 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale was in charge of arrangements.
