Memorial services for Harvey D. Davis, 80, of Temple will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in Temple with the Rev. Tom Robbins Jr. and Rev. Larry Givens officiating.
Mr. Davis died Friday, Aug. 8, in Temple.
He was born Oct. 12, 1927, to Gaston and Dorothy Richey Davis on the family farm in Williamson County. He was a graduate of Blinn College and the University of Houston with a master’s degree in business administration. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps, 1947-49. He taught at Blinn College, 1950-53. After moving to Temple in 1953, he served at two different state agencies and as executive director of the Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board and the Texas Department of Water Resources.
He married Clarice Obermueller in 1949. Later he married Jo N. Blackburn. He was preceded in death by his first wife in 1981.
Survivors include his wife of 11 years; three sons, Charlie Davis and Ray Davis, both of Temple, and Rex Davis of Waco; a daughter, Pam Hacker of Manakin-Sabot, Va.; two stepdaughters, Sara Vanicek of Ballinger and Laurie Wolf of Midland; two sisters, Delores Dooley of LaGrange and Carolyn Torn of Elgin; and 13 grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple.
