BELTON — Services for Christine Garner Mason, 97, of Belton will be 10 a.m. Monday at Dossman Funeral Home of Belton with the Rev. Charles Nichols officiating.

Burial will follow in North Belton Cemetery.

Mrs. Mason died Friday, Aug. 15, in a Temple nursing home.

She was born Feb. 25, 1911, to Rufus Hood Garner and Margaret Tulloch Garner in Tennessee Valley. She married Roy Austin Mason on May 20, 1933, in Bell County. She attended King’s Daughters Nursing School and worked for many years in Belton before retiring from Scott & White Memorial Hospital. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Belton. She was preceded in death by two sons, Austin Hood Mason and Roy Garner Mason.

Survivors include a brother, W. L. “Bill” Garner of Belton; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bell County Museum or to the charity of your choice.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
