COPPERAS COVE — Services for James “Bill” Alvin Hale, 87, of San Angelo, formerly of Kempner will be 10 a.m. Monday at Sheppard Funeral Home in Copperas Cove with Elvis Fisher officiating.
The body will be cremated.
Mr. Hale died Thursday, Aug. 14, in a San Angelo nursing home.
He was born April 21, 1921, to James Bolin Hale and Dixie Estelle Yates Hale in Kempner. He graduated from the University of Denver. He married Shirley Hoefner on June 26, 1949, in Denver. He was an electronics salesman and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Hale.
Survivors include his wife of Aurora, Colo.; a son, Gary Hale of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a daughter, Connie Taylor of Aurora, Colo.; two brothers, Charles Floyd Hale of Carlsbad and Herbert Hale of Lockhart; four sisters, Clara Hill and Otha Mae Kirkpatrick, both of Lampasas, Ginger Fenner of Beaumont and Thelma Phillips of Lubbock; and two grandchildren.
