Services for Janet Grace Appleton, 94, of Troy will be private.

Burial will be in Dunmore Cemetery in Dunmore, Pa.

Ms. Appleton died Friday, August 15, in a Belton care center.

She was born Feb. 2, 1914 in Scranton, Pa. to Kenneth and Florence Derry Coan. She graduated from Barrett High School in Canadensis, Pa. and graduated from Adelphi College in Garden City Long Island, N.Y. She had lived throughout much of Pa., N.J., and N.Y. before moving to Troy 12 years ago. Before retiring in 1979, she had been an Office Supervisor with the Kendall Company, an Industrial Sales Co., for more than 20 years. She was a member of First Church of Christ Scientist.

Survivors include a niece, Janet Michelle Stone of Troy.

Arrangements are being handled by Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple.
