Services for Mary Magdalene Martin, 76, of Temple will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Temple with the Rev. Demetrius Beachum officiating.

Burial will follow in Mount Zion Garden of Memories in Temple.

Mrs. Martin died Friday, Aug. 15, in a Temple hospital.

She was born Sept. 22, 1931, to Philmon and Nettie Lee Sykes Jackson in Bellville. She attended Bellville public schools. She married Ollie Martin. She was a member of Bountiful Blessings Ministry in Temple. She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years; and a son, Lloyd Jackson.

Survivors include three sons, Robert Jackson of Kekaha, Hawaii, Melvin Martin of Ocean City and James Martin of Houston; five daughters, Joyce Jackson Knight, Bertha “B.J.” Lee and Mary McGarity, all of Killeen, Nettie Jackson Mathis of Bartlett, and Patricia “Pat” Martin of Temple; an adopted daughter, Dorothy Jackson of Temple; a brother, Samuel Washington of California; five sisters, Carrie Edison, Earlie Robertson and Pearlie Thomas, all of Dallas, Mabel Faniel of Needville and Ellen Lucille Tanner of Moody; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service.

Public viewing will be noon to 7 p.m. Friday at Hornsby-Murcherson Funeral Home in Temple.

Visitation will be 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
