Services for Mildred Pevehouse Yates, 86, of Cameron will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with the Rev. Chris Norton officiating.

Burial will follow in Pebble Grove Cemetery near Maysfield.

Mrs. Yates died Tuesday, Aug. 26, in a Cameron nursing center.

She was born Aug. 2, 1922, in Maysfield to John and Ina Sapp Pevehouse. She married Johnny J. Yates on May 21, 1941. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Maysfield.

A son, Johnny Yates Jr., preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband of Cameron; a son, Bobby Ray Yates of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; three daughters, Ina Jekel of Georgetown, and Fay Koenig and Dorothy Bastian, both of Cameron; three brothers, Virgil Pevehouse of Cameron, Thomas Pevehouse of Taylor, and Charles Roy Pevehouse of Rockdale; a sister, Alma Patzke of Lake Jackson; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the ALS Association, Greater Houston Chapter, P.O. Box 271561, Houston 77277-1561.

Family visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
