Milam County law officers arrested a Rockdale man in connection with the robbery at a residence at U.S. Highway 77 and FM 1444.
A man, his wife and child were in their home early Tuesday when two men broke in the front door and held them at gunpoint while burglarizing their residence, the sheriff’s department reported Wednesday. The family was not injured.
The couple gave investigators J. Beathard and Chris White a description of the two men and told law officers they could identify them. An interview with a forensic artist was planned. However, later in the day the investigation led to Rockdale, where Milam County officers and Rockdale police took a Rockdale man into custody at a restaurant. The search continued Wednesday for another man in connection with the incident.
Law officers executed a search warrant on the man’s motel room at 12:45 a.m. Wednesday and recovered items taken in the Ben Arnold incident as well as four bags of cocaine weighing about 95 grams, a brick of cocaine weighing about 1,069 grams, a small amount of marijuana and $3,400. The street value of the cocaine is estimated at more than $115,000, sheriff’s department officials said.
