Services for Robert C. Avery, 95, of Fort Worth, formerly of Temple will be 1 p.m. Friday at Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum with the Rev. Benson Kennedy officiating.
Burial will follow in Waco Memorial Park.
Mr. Avery died Tuesday, Aug. 26, in a Fort Worth nursing home.
He was born May 17, 1913, to James Robert Avery and Georgia Martha Morris Avery in Minden, La. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He graduated from Baylor University. He married Taleda Truman Lindsey on Dec. 22, 1947, in Marlin. He was a rancher. He was a resident of Temple from 1984 to 2000. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite, a Shriner and a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his wife; and a stepson, H.B. Peevey.
Survivors include two daughters, Theda Spurgeon of Newark and Linda Curtis of Bynum; nine grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple is in charge of arrangements.
