Services for Melba Johnson, 80, of Temple will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Baptist Church in Temple with the Rev. John Witte and Rev. Eddie Humphrey officiating.
Burial will follow in Bellwood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Johnson died Wednesday, Aug. 27, in a Temple hospital.
She was born Oct. 29, 1927, to Joseph F. and Verdie Wright Hardcastle in the Cego Community. She married Raymond Johnson on April 14, 1947, in Marlin. She moved to Temple in 1947. She started her own beauty shop in 1947, the Park Avenue Beauty Shop, and retired in 2000. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church, before joining Immanuel Baptist Church in 1976, where she was active with the nursery.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years of Temple; a son, Melvin Johnson of Temple; a daughter, Ramalou Prince of Weatherford; a brother, Johnny Hardcastle of Leander; a sister, Bobbie Hopkins of Fort Worth; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Immanuel Baptist Church Nursery, 1402 West Ave. A, Temple, Texas 76504.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple.
