According to Andy Andersen, chief meteorologist with KCEN TV Channel 6, Central Texans can expect cooler weather with the help of expected cloud cover, but rainfall amounts will likely be minimal.
“Anytime a hurricane passes to the east of us, it drains moisture away,” he said.
“The chances Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday might be ‘splash ‘n dash,’” he said, with less than an inch expected in areas that do get rain.
“Other than a little break in temperatures because of the cloud cover and a northeast breeze, that’s about all we will get,” he said, adding that wind speeds could reach about 20 to 25 miles per hour.
The forecast today through Thursday calls for mostly cloudy skies with scattered showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be in the upper 80s to lower 90s.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday should be mostly sunny and warm with highs in the lower to mid 90s.
