Military graveside services for Roderick D. Loftis Sr., 56, of Temple will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas.
Mr. Loftis died Friday, Aug. 29, at his home.
He was born Nov. 6, 1951, to Vernice (Bell) and Alvin Loftis Sr., in Denver, Colo. He was educated in the Dallas ISD and graduated from James Madison High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force and received an honorable discharge. He had worked for the U.S. Postal Service, also as a dental technician, and in other fields.
Survivors include seven children, Kimberly Loftis of Los Angeles, Calif., Chantrell Goodgames of Los Casinas, Roshawn Thornton-Woodson and Denaldo Loftis, both of Desoto, Roderick Loftis Jr., of Dallas, Demetria Loftis of Grand Prairie and Merrekkia Loftis of Cooper; two brothers, Alvin Loftis and Sanford Loftis, both of Dallas; two sisters, Sharon Bell of Pasadena, Calif., and Valerie Tarrant of Dallas; and four grandchildren.
Scanio-Harper Funeral Home of Temple is in charge of arrangements.
