Mr. Joe R. Ramirez, 76, of Troy died Thursday, Sept. 4, at his home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Temple with the Rev. Tom Chamberlain officiating.

Burial will follow in Bellwood Memorial Park.

Mr. Ramirez was born April 15, 1932, to Reymundo and Paulina Rodriguez Ramirez in Rogers. He married Helen Hernandez on Dec. 16, 1948, in Belton. He moved to Troy in 1966, from Milwaukee. He was founder and owner of Ramirez Swimming Pools in Temple. He was a welder and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Temple. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Virginia.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years of Troy; three sons, Paul H. Ramirez, Joe Eddy Ramirez and Ralph Ramirez, all of Troy; three daughters, Mary Ann Resendez, Linda Gomez and Virginia R. Garcia, all of Troy; two brothers, Jessie Ramirez and Mike Ramirez; two sisters, Juanita Ramirez and Mary Ochoa; 18 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Building Fund, 707 South Sixth Street, Temple, Texas 76504 or the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, Okla. 73123-1718.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple; with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m.
