KANSAS CITY, MO. — John M. Kiniry, 87, of Kansas City, Mo., died Friday, Sept. 5.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Matthew Episcopal Church in Kansas City.

Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Kiniry was born Aug. 21, 1921, to James and Elsie DeVasher Kiniry in Kansas City, Mo. He married Elizabeth “Betty” Claire Shepherd in 1944. He was a World War II veteran, where he flew as a Navy pilot in the Pacific Theatre. He was a Charter member of the St. Matthew Episcopal Church in Raytown.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Steven Kiniry and Jim Kiniry, a daughter, Kathleen d’Alelio, a brother, Jim Kiniry, two sisters, Mercedes Thornburg and Connie Jackson; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Floral Hills Chapel, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, Mo. 64133.
