Eric Walker rushed for 107 yards, and Bartlett scored 29 unanswered points to snap its 13-game winless streak with a 29-8 victory over Iola on Friday night at Bulldog Stadium.
Iola (0-2) took an 8-0 lead early in the opening quarter before Bartlett’s defense clamped down, holding the visitors to 213 total yards.
Pierre Smith’s 6-yard touchdown pass to Gabriel Gadison trimmed the gap to 8-6 midway through the opening period, and the pair hooked up again in the second quarter to put Bartlett (1-1) on top for good.

Buckholts’ Joell Mendoza scored his third touchdown of the night to bring the Badgers back in the fourth quarter, but Brent Reynolds caught his second touchdown from Taylor Truitt to break a 24-24 tie as the Central Texas Christian Lions eeked out a victory at Frazee field.
CTCS (1-1) jumped out to a 16-0 lead early on touchdowns by Reynolds and Zachary Bassett. But quarterback William Watson (9-for-19 for 213 yards) brought the Badgers (0-2) back, eventually tying the game in the fourth quarter on Mendoza’s 4-yard run.

SALADO - The Salado Eagles remained unbeaten with a victory over the Franklin Lions at Eagle Stadium.
Salado (2-0) was first out of the gate with a 1-yard scoring run by Garret Ward. Landon Vickers of Franklin (0-2) answered with a 2-yard touchdown run of his own in the second quarter, but the Eagles shut down the Lions for the most part after that.

GRANDVIEW - The Grandview Zebras kept Troy’s defense busy, scoring every quarter en route to victory.
Derrick Vasta was the bright spot for the Trojans (1-1) with a 35-yard scoring run in the third quarter.

JARRELL - The Jarrell Cougars dominated the Thorndale Bulldogs in a game that featured a running clock throughout the fourth quarter.
Jarrell quarterback Chris Trevino threw touchdown passes to Kreece Cooper, Daniel Tucker and Kyle Williams, and in the second quarter Aaron Mueller scored from both sides of the line: a 2-yard rushing touchdown followed by a 71-yard interception return. Jarrell is 1-1.

CENTERVILLE - Logan Pratt broke loose with a 20-yard touchdown with 30 seconds left in the game to propel Bruceville-Eddy to a victory over the Centerville Tigers.
Down 7-0, the Eagles (1-1) tied the game in the second quarter on a 47-yard touchdown pass from Sheldon Walker to Fernando Chapa.
Centerville drops to 0-2.
Rockdale 21

LAMPASAS - Rockdale’s Cois Walker rushed for 123 yards on 20 carries as the Tigers downed the Lampasas Badgers at Badger Field.
After a scoreless first quarter, Walker scored from the 2 to make it 7-0 and quarterback Mark Drake scored on a 3-yard run to extend it to 14-0. Rockdale is 2-0. Lampasas fell to 0-2.

The Dallas Academy Golden Eagles bruised their way to a victory over Holy Trinity Catholic at Gandy Field.
After the Eagles took a 12-0 lead in the first quarter, the Celtics (0-2) closed it to a 30-14 halftime margin when Andrew Couvillon caught a 26-yard scoring pass from Austin Hanlon, and later Jacob Daheim added a 5-yard run.

COPPERAS COVE - Copperas Cove’s Will Wright ran for 107 yards and five touchdowns as the Bulldawgs beat Waco at Bulldawg Stadium.

MILANO - Pedro Calzada outran the Eagle defense by scoring two rushing touchdowns and kicking two extra points as the De Leon Bearcats beat the Milano Eagles at Pruitt Field.
Tanner Welch also had two rushing touchdowns for the Bearcats as De Leon (2-0) ran for 236 yards.
Although the Milano defense surged in the third with a crucial interception by Ryan Karl to stop the Bearcats from scoring in the third, it was not enough for a comeback. Milano fell to 1-1.
Evant 35

EVANT - The Evant Elks held off the Holland Hornets for the win after a wild fourth quarter at Elk Stadium.
In a span of nine minutes with the Elks (1-1) leading 15-6 in the fourth quarter, Evant quarterback Aaron Doyle connected with Zane Newton for two scores while Hollad quarterback Clayton Ash hit Doug Murphy on two touchdown passes.
With 1:56 left in the game, Ash was almost intercepted. But Holland’s Darius Moore grabbed the ball for a 60-yard catch, then lateraled it to teammate Gabriel Camacho, who ran 12 yards for the score and brought the Hornets within 29-28.
Doyle then scored on a 5-yard run with 1:12 left to seal the victory.
Killeen Ellison 59

DEL VALLE - Killeen Ellison rushed for 302 yards, and the Eagles used a 28-point third quarter to pull away from Del Valle for a victory at Veterans Stadium.
Ellison (2-0), which got an 82-yard fumble return for a touchdown from Prezel Hardy in the first quarter, built a 25-12 halftime lead and never looked back.
The Cardinals fell to 1-1.
Round Rock Westwood 45

ROUND ROCK - Round Rock Westwood scored on its second play from scrimmage, a 75-yard touchdown run by Princeton Collins, and cruised past Harker Heights at Round Rock ISD Stadium.
Westwood (1-1) scored on its next possession on a 30-yard touchdown pass from Aaron Cobb to Tyler Grabarkewitz to take a 14-0 lead over the Knights (0-2).

Killeen Shoemaker 13
KILLEEN - The Killeen Kangaroos jumped out to a 14-0 first-quarter lead and never looked back, taking a victory over Killeen Shoemaker at Leo Buckley Stadium.
Michael Cummings scored on a 4-yard run, then Rodney Brown caught a 56-yard scoring pass from Ja’Corie Baker to give the Roos (1-1) a 14-0 lead at the half.
The Grey Wolves (0-1) cut it to 14-7 just before the third quarter ended when Jameill Showers found Dion Demers with a 56-yard scoring strike, but Cummings put the Kangaroos back up by 14 on a 7-yard touchdown midway through the fourth.
