COPPERAS COVE — Services for Mary F. Miller, 86, of Copperas Cove will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Copperas Cove with the Rev. Jim Robertson officiating.
Burial will follow in Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.
Mrs. Miller died Tuesday, Sept. 9, in a local nursing home.
She was born May 27, 1922, in Bronx, N.Y. She married John R. Miller. She was a homemaker and substitute teacher at Our Savior’s Elementary School in the Bronx. She moved to Blairstown, N.J., in 1984. She later moved to Copperas Cove, where she was an active member of the Senior Citizens Club, serving as a mentor in the local elementary school, helping children with reading disabilities and raising money in the marathon walks to benefit the Senior Citizens of Copperas Cove.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1993; and a son, Lt.Cpl. Stephen M. Miller on Sept. 23, 1981.
Survivors include four children, Mary C. “Mickey” Vivolo of Palm Harbor, FL, Theresa A. “Tess” Benjamin of Saugerties, N.Y., Eileen P. Ruth-Depuy of Blairstown, N.J., and John R. Miller of Copperas Cove; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to a local hospice.
Visitation will be 10 a.m.-noon and 6-8 p.m. on Monday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove.
