Bill Sprott

BELTON — Services for Bill Sprott, 64, of Houston, formerly of Belton will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the W. S. Young Church of Christ in Killeen.

Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Nolanville.

Mr. Sprott died Saturday, Sept. 13, in Houston.

He was born July 10, 1944, in Columbus, Miss. to Nathan H. Sprott, Jr. and Mary Elizabeth “Libby” (Hickman) Sprott. He married Judy Ann Chambless, Dec. 19, 1965, in Henderson. He was a graduate of Abilene Christian University and received his masters degree from Stephen F. Austin University. He was a High School Band Director for 27 years in Texas including Bryan and Belton. Following retirement he worked for Holze Music. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He served as a deacon in El Campo and Belton. He was an Elder at the W. S. Young Church of Christ in Killeen. He was a master woodcarver.

Survivors include his wife; his mother of Temple; a daughter, Joelle Yates of Houston; two sons, Jeremy Sprott of Houston, and Jeffrey Sprott of Minneapolis, Minn.; a brother, David Sprott of Belton; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will follow after the service at the church.

Arrangements are being handled by Dossman Funeral Home in Belton.
