Services for Arturo Valdez Sr., 62, of Temple will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Temple with the Rev. Tom Chamberlain officiating.

Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Mr. Valdez died Tuesday, Sept. 16, at his residence.

He was born Sept. 12, 1946, in Mexico to Pedro and San Juana (Hernandez) Valdez. He married Cesaria Uribe 22 years ago in Mexico. He moved to Temple in 1995. He worked as a handyman. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Temple.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Arturo Valdez Jr., Marco Antonio Valdez, and Pedro Valdez, all of Temple; four daughters, Catalina Valdez, Maria de Angeles Valdez, Julia Valdez, and Benita Valdez, all of Temple; two brothers, Silvino Valdez Sr., and Jose Valdez; two sisters, Irene Valdez and Adela Valdez, both of Temple; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.
