GATESVILLE — Services for Veda Turpin, 86, of Mound will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Gatesville Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Davidson Cemetery.

Mrs. Turpin died Tuesday, Sept. 16, at a local nursing center.

She was born Oct. 8, 1921, in Mound to William and Sarah Hodge. She was reared and attended school in Mound. She married Henry (Happy) Turpin June 22, 1940. They resided in the Mound community. She was a homemaker and a member of the White Mound Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Betty Wheeler of Gatesville and Nelda Hamilton of Lorena; a sister, Ima Rountree of Gatesville; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and an adopted granddaughter.

Memorials may be given to White Mound Baptist Church.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
