BELTON — Services for Helen K. Norwood, 88, of Fort Worth will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Heartfield Funeral Home in Belton.

Burial will be in Salado Cemetery.

Mrs. Norwood died Monday, Sept. 15, in Fort Worth.

She was born Oct. 22, 1919, near Prairie Dell to Grainger and Ida Elizabeth Killingsworth. She was chosen as Miss Salado for the Texas Centennial of 1936. She graduated as salutatorian from Salado High School. She married Fred Norwood December 25, 1938, and he preceded her in death in 2007.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Esch of Fort. Worth; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
