HARKER HEIGHTS — Private family services for William Ross Garrett, 82, of Belton will be held at a later date.

Mr. Garrett died Sunday, Sept. 14, in a Temple hospital.

He was born July 23, 1926, to Jack and Lottie Hughes Garrett in Whitewright. He served in both the U.S. Army Air Corps and the U.S. Navy. He was a community engineer and electronics expert for many years for ARCO Oil & Gas Company, retiring in 1982.

Survivors include his wife, Rita Garrett; a son, Kenneth Garrett of Whitesboro; a daughter, Gerry Wilder of Temple; four stepchildren, LaRon Tubb, Jayanna Corbin, Penny Morgan and Danny Tubb; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Temple VA Volunteer Service for Hospice Unit.

Heritage Funeral Home in Harker Heights is in charge of arrangements.
