MINEOLA — Graveside services for Oscar Lynn Shipp Jr., 67, of Mineola were held Tuesday in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. James Fowler officiated.
Mr. Shipp died Saturday, Sept. 13, in a Tyler hospital.
He was born Aug. 25, 1941, to Oscar Lynn Shipp Sr. and Obie Bruner Shipp in Mineola. He graduated from East Texas State University. He married Nelda Whitis, formerly of Belton, on Nov. 21, 1970. He was a retired railroad engineer who worked for the Cotton Belt and Union Pacific railroads. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Mineola and the Brotherhood of Locomotive engineers.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years of Mineola; and two sisters, Dianne Bishop and Suzette Wright, both of Mineola.

Beaty Funeral Home of Mineola was in charge of arrangements.
