Services for Sterling B. Bunkley, 93, of Temple, formerly of Orange, will be at a later date.
Mr. Bunkley died Thursday, Sept. 18, in a local nursing home.
He was born Dec. 28, 1914, to Horatio and Catherine Durmire Bunkley in Waxahachie. He was raised and educated in Waxahachie and Breckenridge. He attended North Texas State University in Denton. He worked as an instrument mechanic for DuPont Chemical Company in Orange, for more than 30 years, before retiring in 1979. He was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church in Orange and was a member of the Orange Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Dixie G. Bunkley of Temple; a son, Rex Bunkley of Phoenix; two daughters, Sandy Mason of Belton and Sharon Hogg of Bridge City; a brother, Edgar Bunkley of North Carolina; a sister, Frances Warren of Abilene; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Scanio-Harper Funeral Home of Temple is in charge of arrangements.
