KILLEEN — Services for Lathan E. “Papa” Salley, 92, of Harker Heights will be 12:30 p.m. Monday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen.

Burial will follow in Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen with military honors.

Mr. Salley died Saturday, Sept. 13, in a Temple hospital.

He was born Aug. 2, 1916, in Wightman, Va. He was raised and educated in New Jersey. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army. Upon leaving the military he worked for The Piccattiny Arsenal in New Jersey. He then worked for the Newark Community School of the Arts in New Jersey, retiring in 1994.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Conn and Terry Conn, both of New Jersey; six daughters, Deborah Conn of North Carolina, Kimberly Conn, Joyce Dukes and Angela Terry, all of Texas, and Angelique Davis and Lucretia Davis-Stokes, both of New Jersey; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
