COPPERAS COVE — Services for Alfred D. “Freddie” Ortiz, 47, of Copperas Cove will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove.

The body will be cremated.

Memorial service will be held at 8 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, at Copperas Cove Golf Course at hole number six.

Mr. Ortiz died Monday, Sept. 15, in Temple.

He was born May 14, 1961, to Gonzalo M. and Delia Ortiz in San Antonio. He grew up in San Antonio and graduated in 1979, from John F. Kennedy High School.

He began his civil service career at Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio on Sept. 28, 1987. In July 1997, he worked as Chief, Material Mgt. Branch, DOL, Supply Division.

He married Christine on July 15, 2005, in Lampasas.

Survivors include his wife of Copperas Cove; six children, Aaron Ortiz of Fort Bragg, Ashly Ortiz of San Antonio, Aaron Potter, Travis Potter, Morgan Potter and Jeremi Ortiz, all of Copperas Cove; two sisters, Elsa Garza and Cynthia Delgado, both of San Antonio; and his mother of San Antonio.

Memorials may be made to Development Department, Tiger Woods Foundation, 121 Innovation, Suite 150, Irvine, Calif. 92617, in memory of Alfred.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
