Services for Edith “Edie” Broughton, 84, of Temple will be held at a later date.

Ms. Broughton died Friday, Sept. 19, in a local hospital.

She was born Aug. 4, 1924, to Charlie and Clara Bell Nowell Parker in Anson County, N.C. She moved to Temple in 1979. She worked as a restaurant manager at The Kettle in Temple for 12 years. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard Earl Gillespie in 1970.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Peters of Temple; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.

Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple is in charge of arrangements.
