ROCKDALE— Services for Johnnie Sherrill, 74, of Lee County, formerly of Cameron will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Blue United Methodist Church in Blue with the Rev. Mark Nygard officiating.

Burial will follow in Burns Cemetery in Blue.

Mrs. Sherrill died Saturday, Sept. 20, in an Austin hospital.

She was born Sept. 12, 1934, to John Lay and Iris Norman Lay in Lee County. She married Ray “Hooter” Sherrill on Nov. 21, 1955, in Cameron. She was a housewife. She was preceded in death by two grandsons.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years of Lexington; four sons, Robert Sherrill of Jewitt, Billy Sherrill of Beaukiss, Randy Sherrill of Lexington and David Sherrill of Blue; four daughters, Doris Phillips of San Antonio, JoNell Sparrow of Austin, Marilyn Hannigan of Lexington and Judy Blue of Blue; three brothers, Perry Lay and Ray Lay, both of Lexington and Floyd Lay of Limestone; three sisters, Myrtle Piper of Austin, Margaret Grey of Magnolia and Annie Lloyd of Greenville, N.C.; 21 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Lexington.
