KILLEEN — Memorial services for Melvin H. Hayes Jr., 65, of Killeen will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen with the Rev. David Reynolds officiating.

Burial will follow at 1 p.m. in Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen with full military honors.

He died Tuesday, Aug. 26, in a Temple hospital.

Mr. Hayes was born Dec. 11, 1942, to Melvin Hayes Sr. and Ethel Washington Hayes in New Orleans. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Hayes in 1999.

Survivors include two sons, Kevin Hayes of New Orleans and Mel Hays of New Jersey; a daughter, Raven Hayes of Houston; a brother, Demetrius Hayes; two sisters, Sybil Hayes and Juanita Hayes, all of New Orleans; and a grandchild.
