Services for George Adam Becker, 92, of Temple will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. Ranjan Cletus officiating.
Burial will be in Bellwood Memorial Park with military honors.
Mr. Becker died Saturday, Sept. 20, in a local hospital.
He was born July 30, 1916, in Barclay to Adam and Clara Hering Becker. He was educated in Barclay, Westphalia, and graduated from Rosebud High School and business school in Waco. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps in England, France, and Germany. He worked in Waco, Minnesota, Point Barrow, Alaska and Dallas. He married Barbara Ellen Jackson June 23, 1949, in Dallas. In 1954, the family moved to Temple, and he opened a business, Becker’s Radiator Service. He retired in 2003. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church where he served as an usher and was a member of the Knight’s of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, George David Becker of Uhland and Thomas “Tom” Anthony Becker of Belton; three daughters, Margaret “Maggie” Clara Becker of Waco, Barbara Kathleen Carter of Uhland, and Julia Elizabeth Becker of Crofton, Md.; a brother, Jerome A. Becker of Rogers; two sisters, Eva Lena McElfish of San Bernardino, Calif. and Martha Belle Carter of Lake Wales, Fla.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. today with visitation to follow at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple.
