Services for Ollie “Janie” Eakin, 79, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Sneed Funeral Home in Lampasas with Doyle Combs and Cindy Dack officiating.

Burial will be 4 p.m. Thursday in Tye Cemetery in Oak Grove.

Mrs. Eakin died Saturday, Sept. 20, in a Lampasas hospital.

She was born on Oct. 2, 1928 in Palestine to Herbert Clay Jones and Mary McDonald Anderson Jones. Her father was a railroad worker and they lived in Arkansas, California and Texas. She was a member of the Star Baptist Church.

She married David Hinkson Eakin on June 8, 1967, in Glen Rose.

Survivors include two daughters, Alice Eakin of Evant and Mary Ellis of Fort Worth; a son Kenneth Wyatt of College Station; a sister, Joy Celestine Swenson of El Paso; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Star Baptist Church or the Tye Cemetery Association.

Visitation is 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
