Memorial service for Joan Ann Connie Hoyt Mahan, 71, of Temple will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Oenaville Baptist Church with the Rev. Roy Carpenter officiating.

Mrs. Mahan died Monday, Aug. 25, in a local hospital.

She was born April 24, 1937, to Henry and Kathryn Hoyt in Ponchatoula, La. She graduated from Albany High School in 1956. She worked for Billups in Hammond, La. She married George Mahan in June of 1961 at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Albany, La. In the early 1980s, she moved to Temple and became an active member of Oenaville Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years.

Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Mahan of Temple; and three sisters, Ada “Sis” McCullen of Holden, La., Sally Hoyt of Albany, La., and Jackie Tantillo Ard of Osyka, Miss.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oenaville Baptist Church, 6161 Dudley Road, Troy.

Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple is in charge of arrangements.
