COPPERAS COVE — Graveside services for Joe W. Wrachford, 79, of Copperas Cove will be 1 p.m. today in Copperas Cove Cemetery with Tom Allen officiating.

Mr. Wrachford died Wednesday, Sept. 24, in a Killeen hospital.

He was born Feb. 12, 1929, to the late Gordon Wrachford and Addie French Rowan Wrachford in Booth, W.Va. He married Runez Gregg on Jan. 13, 1952, in Mexico. He had been a Coryell County constable, a Lampasas County Deputy sheriff, and owned and operated several small businesses in Copperas Cove. He was a retired army veteran and a member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years on July 9, 2004.

Survivors include a son, Terry Wrachford of Arlington; a daughter, Barbara Wrachford of Copperas Cove; a sister, Rene Lakus of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Sheppard Funeral Home in Copperas Cove is in charge of arrangements.
