BELTON — Memorial services for George Robert “Bob” Mahan Sr., 65, of Temple will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church in Belton with the Rev. Mike Dunson officiating.
Mr. Mahan died Thursday, Sept. 11, at his home.
He was born Jan. 21, 1943, to William Audis Mahan and Vinita Inez Thompson Mahan in Dallas. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years. He married Claire Cotter on Aug. 3, 1991, in Brownsville. He worked in materials management as the supervisor for at least five hospitals, before retiring. He was a member of the Bell County Sportsman Club and the Centex Sportsman Club. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Belton.
Survivors include his wife of 17 years of Temple; a son, George Robert Mahan Jr. of Whitehouse; a brother, William Mahan of Mississippi; a sister Joann Pitchford of Malakoff; a half-brother, Terry Hockenberry of Ocala, Fla.; and four grandchildren.
Dossman Funeral Home of Belton is in charge of arrangements.
