Mrs. Welch died Tuesday, Sept. 30, in a Temple nursing home.
She was born Feb. 21, 1919, to Emily Pearl Rogers and Richard H. Burgess in Texaco, N.M. She married Lloyd Welch Jr. She worked for the Northeast School District for many years and was later a self-employed florist. She was preceded in death by her husband on March 28, 2008.
Survivors include a son, Michael Welch of Fort Worth; a daughter, Suzanne Schnitz of Salado; and four grandchildren.
