Charles A. Lewis

ROSEBUD — Services for Charles Allen Lewis, 76, of Cedar Springs, will be 2 p.m. Sunday at New Salem Baptist Church near Rosebud with the Revs. Don Fulton and H.L. Williams officiating.

The body will be cremated.

Mr. Lewis died Wednesday, Oct. 1, at a Rosebud nursing center.

He was born May 28, 1932, in Inola, Okla., to Christopher Columbus and Lena Walters Lewis. He married Ann McBee on Aug. 17, 1967, and has resided in the Rosebud area since 1982. Some of his occupations include construction, a farmer in California vineyards, and a school bus driver for the Rosebud-Lott Independent School District.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Dobie Lee Bruton and James Edward Bruton, a granddaughter, and a great-grandson.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Lanny Dale Lewis of Visalia, Calif., Rick Leon Lewis of Badger, Calif., Douglas Allen Lewis and Keith Edwin Lewis, both of Rosebud; a daughter, JoAnn “JoJo” Thompson of Rosebud; a brother, Leon R. Lewis of Reedley, Calif.; a sister, Cleo Schumaker of Reedley, Calif.; 19 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to New Salem Baptist Church.

Arrangements are being handled by Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud.
