Mr. Cooke died Thursday, Oct. 2, in Rockdale.
He was born May 15, 1968, in Rockdale to John William and Peggy Adams Cooke. He was a 1986 graduate of Rockdale High School and graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a degree in speech communication in 1992. In 1985, he was a Class 3A state champion in tennis doubles with his brother Ken Esten Cooke. He also played tennis for Temple College for two years. He worked as an importer and wholesaler of Mexican Indian artwork. He married Noelia Cigarroa on July 31, 1993, in Xalapa, Vera Cruz, Mexico. He was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Rockdale.
Survivors include his wife Rockdale; two sons, Kevin Esten Cooke of Rockdale, Agustin Adams Cooke of Rockdale; his parents, Bill and Peggy Cooke of Rockdale; two brothers, Kyle William Cooke of Houston, Ken Esten Cooke of Rockdale; and one sister, Kathy Lu Cooke Martin of Rockdale.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John’s United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 168, Rockdale, 76567; or to St. Paul Lutheran School, P.O. Box 369, Thorndale, 76577.
Visitation is 9:30-11 a.m. prior to the service at St. John’s United Methodist Church.
