Ova L. Hollowell

Services for Ova Lela Hollowell, 94, of Temple will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Western Hills Church of Christ with Scott Meyer officiating.

Burial will follow in Bellwood Memorial Park.

Mrs. Hollowell died Wednesday, Oct. 8, in a Temple hospital.

She was born Nov. 26, 1913, to Virgil M. and Dora Harris May in Yeager, Okla. She attended school in Crowder Springs, Okla. She lived in Irving, Grand Prairie, Stamford, Odessa and Kingsland before moving to Temple in 1971. She married Clarence Hollowell in Boswell, Okla., on July 17, 1934, and she was a homemaker. She was a member of Western Hills Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years on July 19, 1991, and a daughter, Jimmie Jones in 2004.

Survivors include two sons, Bill Hollowell of Pasadena and W.L. “Dub” Hollowell of Odessa; a daughter, Shirley Daniels of Temple; two brothers, Lindzay Q. May of Tecumseh, Okla., and Virgil May Jr. of Shawnee, Okla.; a sister, Violet Ross of Idabell, Okla.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Medina Children’s Home, 21300 State Hwy 16N, Medina 78055-3808

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home of Temple.
