Mr. Jackson died Wednesday, Oct. 8, at his home.
He was born Nov. 20, 1940, to Claude Henry Jackson and Stella Ann Brooks in Salado. As a life-long resident of Salado, he attended Cedar Valley Elementary and Salado schools. He married Tony K. Peterson on Oct. 6, 1958, in Salado. He was an auto mechanic for Penske Automotive, a manager of K-Mart automotive division, a driver for a Killeen butane company and a cattle rancher. He was preceded in death by two sons, Jimmy Jackson Jr. and Jimmy Jackson II.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years of Salado; three daughters, Sharrell Beckham of Dallas, Carol Ann Ratliff of Belton and Sue Hreha of Killeen; two brothers, Norman Jackson and Larry Jackson, both of Salado; a sister, Kathy Phillips of Academy; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
