Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery.
Mrs. Rector died Wednesday, Oct. 8.
She was born March 27, 1927, to Frank and Rosalie Vasicek near Seaton. She worked as a nanny in the Temple area. She moved to Houston in the early 1950s where she worked as a store clerk. She married Leon Rector on February 19, 1955, in Temple. She was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Austin for more than 50 years and a member of Austin’s American Legion Post No. 83, where she served as the Ladies Auxiliary treasurer.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years; three sons, Kenneth Rector, Harvey Lee Rector and Michael Rector; two daughters, Pam Edwards and Teresa Beaman; four brothers, Johnny Vasicek, Leonard Vasicek, Rudolph Vasicek and Edward Vasicek; six sisters, Martha Tomek, Dorothy Drozd, Emma Vasicek, Helen Roberts, Margaret Sehon and Caroline Cottle; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, or to the charity of your choice.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 N. Lamar in Austin.
