Burial will follow in the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
Mr. Davis died Thursday, Oct. 9, in Harker Heights.
He was born March 2, 1942, to Arthur Davis and Evelyn Stanton Davis in Columbus, Ohio. On Nov. 30, 1963, he married Joyce Chafin in Norton, Va. He served in the U.S. Army. His decorations include the Bronze Star; the Meritorious Service Medal; the Army Commendation Medal; the Army Good Conduct Medal with bronze clasp and four loops; the National Defense Service Medal; the Army Service Ribbon; the Overseas Service Ribbon with Numeral 3; the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal; the Vietnam Service Medal with three bronze service stars; the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; the Driver Badge with bar; the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with palm; the Republic of Vietnam Civil Actions Honor Medal; and the First Class Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral 3. He retired June 30, 1985, at Fort Hood. After retiring, he worked for General Dynamics in Egypt and the Middle East. He retired in the U.S. in 2003. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Kersten, on July 18, 2008.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years of Harker Heights; a daughter, Stephanie Graham of Harker Heights; a brother, Lawrence Davis of Columbus; two sisters, Delores Perkins and Margaret Abel, both of Columbus; and three grandchildren;

Visitation will be noon to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
