BARTLETT -The Bartlett Bulldogs kept pace atop the District 26-A standings, taking a 35-6 victory over Holland on Friday night at Bulldog Stadium.

Holland fell to 2-5, 0-2.

GRANGER - Jaron Davis returned two punts for touchdowns to lead the Granger Lions to a 34-0 victory over the Thrall Tigers at Lions Stadium.

The district victory ties Granger with Bartlett atop the District 26-A standings.

Kenny Sifuentes scored on runs of 15 and 83 yards, and Davis put the Tigers (2-5, 1-1) away with a 42-yard punt return for a score in the fourth.

Thorndale 14, Milano 12

THORNDALE - Cody Schneider scored on Thorndale’s first play from scrimmage and the Bulldogs held on for a 14-12 victory over Milano.

The Eagles (4-3, 0-2 District 26-A) cut the gap to 8-6 on a 1-yard scoring plunge by Matthew Jentsch before Tyler Morton’s 22-yard touchdown run gave the Bulldogs (2-5, 1-1) a 14-6 halftime lead.

Milano’s last gasp came late in the fourth quarter. Thomas Sanders ran in from 2 yards out, but Thorndale thwarted the two-point conversion try.

Troy 56, Moody 6

TROY - Troy solidified its hold at the top of the District 16-2A standings with a 56-6 domination of Moody at Trojan Field.

Jeremy Conrad scored three touchdowns and rushed for 137 yards on just 11 carries for the Trojans (5-2, 4-0 16-2A). Dylan Sebek scored on a keeper and hit Roy Freeman from the 28 for a touchdown.

Justin Smith’s 60-yard interception in the second quarter produced the only touchdown for the Bearcats (1-6, 0-4).

Crawford 54, Bruceville-Eddy 7

BRUCEVILLE-EDDY - The Crawford Pirates regained their winning form, posting a 54-7 triumph over Bruceville-Eddy at Eagle Stadium.

The Pirates (5-2 overall, 2-2 16-2A) jumped to a 34-7 lead in the first quarter. The one bright spot for the Eagles (1-6, 0-4) was Sheldon Walker’s 70-yard touchdown pass to Matt Zaidle that brought them within one touchdown at 14-7. But Crawford scored the final 33 points.

Teague 50, Rosebud-Lott 20

TRAVIS - The Teague Lions erupted for 22 second-quarter points as they ambushed Rosebud-Lott 50-20 in a District 20-2A game at Cougar Field.

The Cougars (5-2, 0-2) led 14-7 at the end of the first quarter on the strength of Ernesto Flores’ 20-yard scoring pass to Hunter Newman, and Flores’ 63-yard sprint for a touchdown. But the Lions (3-4, 2-0) scored three touchdowns in the second to claim 29-14 lead at the half.

Jarrell 32, Florence 12

FLORENCE - The Jarrell Cougars extended their winning streak over Florence to 13 - and climbed out of the District 25-2A cellar - with a 32-12 victory at Stampede Stadium.

Things started well for the Buffaloes (1-6, 0-3) as Ben Katzenmeyer had an 8-yard scoring run to take a 6-0 lead. But that was short-lived as Jarrell quarterback Kris Trevino went to work, tossing a touchdown pass to Aaron Mueller and two to Daniel Tucker to give the Cougars (3-5, 1-3) a 22-6 advantage.

Gatesville 30, Hillsboro 10

HILLSBORO - The Gatesville Fightin’ Hornets stung Hillsboro for 18 fourth-quarter points to claim a 30-10 District 7-3A victory at Eagle Field.

Kevin Clarke and Zane Evans scored first-half touchdowns for the Hornets, who racked up 353 yards against the Eagles (1-6, 0-2).

Central Texas Christian 69, Cedar Park Summit 24

LEANDER - Cental Texas Christian dropped Cedar Park Summit 69-24 in a TAPPS Division I District 3-Six-Man opener at Summit Field.

The game was halted midway through the fourth quarter because of the 45-point mercy rule.

Jeremiah Bergert rushed for 195 yards on 13 carries and scored three touchdowns as the Lions (4-4) rolled up 520 yards against Eagles (2-6).

Brian Browder also scored three touchdowns and rushed for 112 yards, and Caleb Paschall added two rushing touchdowns.

Bryan Allen Academy 59, Holy Trinity Catholic 27

Andrew Couvillon had a big night by scoring all four touchdowns for Holy Trinity Catholic, but it was not enough to overcome Bryan Allen Academy as the Celtics fell 59-27 in a six-man game at Gandy Field.

The Rams (4-3) racked up 392 yards against the Celtics (1-7).

Killeen Shoemaker 32, College Station A&M Consolidated 24

KILLEEN - Jameill Showers threw for 302 yards and three touchdowns as Killeen Shoemaker shocked College Station A&M Consolidated 32-24 in a District 12-5A game.

The Grey Wolves (3-4, 2-2 in 12-5A) handed the Tigers (4-3, 3-1) their first district loss and moved into a three-way tie for third place in the league standings.

Showers was 12-of-18 passing and had scoring tosses of 80 yards to Derrick Mays, 66 yards to M.J. Porter and 11 yards to Dion Demers, who added 151 yards and two TDs rushing.

Killeen Ellison 28, Bryan 9

BRYAN - Killeen Ellison made up for its non-existent passing attack by rushing for 283 yards en route to a 28-9 District 12-5A victory over Bryan at Merrill Green Stadium.

The Eagles (4-3, 2-2), who moved into a three-way tie for third place in the district standings, grabbed a 14-0 second-quarter lead and never let the Vikings (3-3, 1-3) get on track.

Daniel Cobb ran for 186 yards and three touchdowns to offset Ellison’s shortcomings through the air. The Eagles mustered minus-1 yard passing.

Dripping Springs 35, Lampasas 14

LAMPASAS - Spencer Wood ran for two short touchdowns as undefeated Dripping Springs jumped out to a 21-0 lead and went on to keep Lampasas winless with a 35-14 victory in District 25-4A play at Badger Field.

Jeff Tuck also had two TD runs for the Tigers (8-0, 4-0), who compiled 215 rushing yards and limited the Badgers (0-7, 0-3) to 65.
