Three West Temple subdivisions without water tonight

About 400 households in three Temple subdivisions in western Temple had little or no water pressure Monday and have been given a boil water notice, according to city of Temple officials.

Shannon Gowan, communications director for the city, said residents in Crescent View, Kasberg Addition and Sundance subdivisions should have water pressure restored by Tuesday morning, but they should boil water before drinking until further notice.

She said a utility contractor uncovering a 14-inch water line on FM 2305 near the construction site of Holy Trinity Catholic High School spotted a leak on Monday. She said the iron pipe had rusted through and contractors did not break the pipe.

Ms. Gowan said that as city crews tried to repair the pipe, the hole got bigger.

She said repairs should be completed overnight.

“For anybody needing water during this situation, the city will have bottled water available at Temple Fire and Rescue Station No. 7 at 8420 W. Adams,” she said.
