Mrs. Bowles died Sunday, Oct. 19, in a local nursing center.
She was born Sept. 26, 1917, in Seaton to J.J. Mikeska and Elizabeth Motl Mikeska. She was raised and educated in Seaton. She worked as a night manager at the Kyle Hotel coffee shop for many years. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Johnny Hejl and Tom Bowles Jr.
Survivors include two stepdaughters, Ann Bowles Turk of Belton and Margaret Bowles Williamson of Salado; a sister, Theresa Tracy Carper of Dallas; a brother, Leo Mikeska of Damon; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6-7 p.m. today at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple.
