R.D. Chanslor

KILLEEN — Services for R.D. Chanslor, 91, of Killeen will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of Christ in Killeen with Boyce Edwards, Dan Carter, and James Haney officiating.

Burial will be in Live Oak Cemetery in Youngsport.

Mr. Chanslor died Sunday, Oct. 19, in a Killeen hospital.

He was born Nov. 28, 1916, in Killeen. He was educated in and a life-long resident of Killeen. He was owner and operator of Chanslor-Young Hardware Store, and Chanslor and Sons Funeral Home which became Chanslor-Young Funeral Home which is now Harper-Talasek Funeral Home. He was Bell County Commissioner for Precinct No. 4 from 1967 to 1979. He was a member of the Church of Christ of Killeen.

Survivors include his wife, Dora; two daughters, Donna Nicodemus of Houston and Creta Bales of Killeen; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Peaceable Kingdom, 19051 FM 2484, Killeen.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Killeen.
