Burial will follow at Killeen Memorial Park.
Mr. Moore died Sunday, Oct. 19, in a Temple hospital.
He was born Nov. 22, 1930, in Houston to Willie Willice Moore and Winnie Ellis Moore. He joined the U.S. Navy, and later served in and retired from the U.S. Army, receiving the Purple Heart. He also worked as a jailer for Bell County, worked for the Mrs. Baird’s Thrift Store and worked for a telephone company. He was a 32nd degree Mason as well as a member of the Shriners and the Scottish Rite. He was a member of the Lake Belton VFW Post No. 10377 and attended Stillhouse Hollow Baptist Church. He married Irmgard Moore, who preceded him in death on March 18, 1995. He later married Mary Barney-Moore.
Survivors include his wife of Temple; three stepsons, John Barney of Troy, James Barney of Luverne, Ala., and Jay Barney of Temple; a stepdaughter, Joy Crawford of Pendleton; a brother, Jim L. Moore of Winchester Bay, Ore.; a sister, Carolyn Sue Auger of Phoenix, Ariz.; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society.
Visistation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
