Mrs. Jones died Saturday, Oct. 18, in a Lubbock nursing center.
She was born June 8, 1923, in Fort Worth to Marion and Nell Davis Miller. She married Kenneth H. Jones in 1945 in Cleburne and he preceded her in death Jan. 6, 1995. While attending Texas Christian University, she was assistant to the executive director of Christian Women’s Fellowships in Texas. She had been a secretary for the Brazosport School System in Freeport before moving to Temple in 1950. She had been a secretary for the First Christian Church in Temple and for the State Soil and Water Conservation Board. She moved to Lubbock in 2004.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Emma Elizabeth Duke, Oct. 29, 1997.
Survivors include two daughters, Vickie Holder of Lubbock and Kathy Duke of Austin; a sister, Martha Owens of Burleson; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
