James E. Shine

LINDALE — Services for James E. “Jim” Shine, 89, of Lindale will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home in Lindale with Ira Lynn officiating.

Burial will be 3:30 p.m. in North Belton Cemetery in Belton.

Mr. Shine died Monday, Oct. 20, at his residence.

He was born Dec. 14, 1918, in Belton to James Edmond and Ella Victoria Kirchner Shine. He lived most of his life in La Marque moving to Lindale in 2005. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force in World War II and retired from the U.S. Public Health Service Hospital in Galveston after 38 years of service. He was a member of the Lindale Rotary Club and the South Main Church of Christ.

Survivors include two daughters, Patsy Wilson of Scottsboro, Ala., Shirley Nash of El Cajon, Calif.; a son, Greg Shine of Huntsville, Ala.; a brother, B.W. Shine of Tyler; six grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
