MORGAN’S POINT – Destiny Renae Montelongo, a missing 12-year-old girl from Morgan’s Point, was found this afternoon and is with family members, according to officials.

No other details were available at this time.

Dive teams had been searching the waters of Lake Belton near the Morgan's Point Marina since 10 a.m. this morning.

Searchers found the girl’s shoes, sweater and school books near the search area on the bank of Lake Belton.

The girl’s mother called police about 5 p.m. Tuesday to report that her daughter had not gotten off the school bus and was not home yet.

Officers conducted a door-to-door sweep through the area Tuesday night. After her clothing was found, a dive team searched the lake starting around 7:45 p.m. but found nothing. The lake search was called off around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.
