Rosemary Faseler

CAMERON — Services for Rosemary Yates Faseler, 87, of Bay City and formerly of Cameron will be 11 a.m. today at the First United Methodist Church of Bay City with the Rev. Chris Harrison and the Rev. Pauline Harvey officiating.

Burial will be 4:30 p.m. in the Pebble Grove Cemetery in Milam County.

Mrs. Faseler died Monday, Oct. 27, in Bay City.

She was born April 26, 1921, in Cameron to Roy Hall Yates and Jenny Angeline Porter Yates. She married Emil John “E.J.” Faseler Jr. on Dec. 1, 1941, and he preceded her in death. She was a resident of Matagorda County since 1957. She received her teaching degree from the University of Texas, was a Life Member of the U.T. Ex-Students Association and later received her master’s degree as a reading specialist from Texas Southern University. She taught English and reading with the Bay City I.S.D. and also received her real estate license and worked for Earl & Erwin Ward Caldwell Bankers Reality in Bay City. She retired in 1997. She was a charter member of the Matagorda General Hospital Auxiliary, a charter member of the local Literacy Volunteers of America, wrote articles for the newsletter of the Matagorda County Birding Nature Center.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Charles Faseler.

Survivors include two sons, John Roy Faseler of Lake Jackson and Robert Yates Faseler of Port Neches; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Cameron is in charge of arrangements.
