Burial will follow in Bluebonnet Cemetery near Rosebud.
Mrs. Smith died Saturday, Oct. 25, in a local hospital.
She was born July 11, 1921, to Malachi and Emmadell Barfield Alexander in Hillsboro. She lived in Rosebud most of her life. She married Yeury Smith Sr. on Dec. 12, 1942. She worked as a cook for Swepston Hospital and for Tasty Mart Café in Rosebud. She was a member of Williams Chapel Church of God in Christ in Rosebud.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years of Rosebud; three sons, Yeury Smith Jr. of Waxahachie, Alexander “Bubba” Smith and Terry J. Smith, both of Rosebud; two daughters, Tommie J. Matthews of Memphis, Tenn., and Robinette Wortham of Rosebud; a brother, Emmitt C. Whitfield Jr. of Dallas; a sister, Laverne Moon of Spencer, Okla.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
